Routes above Brunate, Monte Boletto and the Triangolo Lariano quickly gain altitude. Temperature, wind and visibility can differ greatly from the lakeshore.
Follow hourly evolution
For hiking, timing matters. A stable morning followed by afternoon instability may favour an early start, while persistent cloud can reduce visibility on ridges.
Thunderstorms and exposed terrain
When convection is possible, exposed ridges and summits require particular caution. Check radar and official warnings before departure and reassess conditions during the day.
